We need volunteers to join us in our mission.

We are looking for people with the following :

A great attitude -

A can do attitude is a must! in the face of poor sleep, bad weather, and long hours you need to keep the effort up. You need good judgment, and patience.

A sense of duty -

We are a passionate group; we each do this for different personal reasons, but our shared mission is about training our troops and giving them an edge that will bring them back alive. We are a group of quiet patriots, we don't toot our own horns, and we don't do this for the glory. We aren't there to 'win'. We are there to allow the guardsmen the opportunity to practice their procedures over and over and over again. The satisfaction we get comes in seeing the soldiers get better at their tasks as the weekend progresses.

What kind of people are we?-

We have every age and weight represented in our group; 17-60 years old, and 100-300lbs. Men and women. You don't have to be the finest physical specimen on earth, but you have to be healthy enough to put up with some duress. We have liberals and conservatives, blue collar and white. We enjoy our similarities, and our differences.

What to expect -

We work very long hours, often from 4:40am to midnight. Often for 2 days. We sleep in sometimes primitive conditions. We eat bar food, or MREs. We spend a huge amounts of time face down in the dirt zip-cuffed. We get dragged through the gravel, we get plopped down in mud puddles. It can be hot or cold, or raining. We work in what ever weather the guard is training in. You have to come prepared to take care of your own needs, food, sleep, clothing, etc. We do a lot of acting - various roles, depending on what the scenario dictates. We do some shooting with airsoft guns. The Guardsmen use blanks in their weapons, so there is often a lot of gun fire.

Safety is a huge issue. We don't do anything to hurt the guardsman, and they don't do anything to hurt us. However since accidents can always happen, you will be required to sign a heavy-duty waiver before you participate, in which you take responsibility for your own medical issues if an accident occurs. You must have health insurance to participate. There are Guard medics present, so any emergency situations can be taken care of, but follow-up care is your responsibility.

One of the skills the guardsmen are practicing is searching and securing detainees. This means that your person will be searched. This will almost always mean that for a brief time, your private parts will be patted down to search for weapons. This is something we all endure, no one likes it, including the guardsmen, but it is a necessity to their future survival.

The skills you bring to the table need only be your enthusiasm. The type of training we are doing on any particular weekend will dictate our activities. It helps if you can put yourself out there enough to do some character acting but it's not a necessity.

Read over the 'first time' list we send to to help our folks prep.

What we expect from you -

Commitment. We need people who understand the gravity of this service, who will stay focused, and can show up both emotionally and physically. We need people who are emotionally mature, and can put themselves aside to play this role.

If you are interested, contact one of us from the contacts page. We'll talk and answer any questions you may have. We'll get a feel for each other, and proceed from there. If you don't feel like are able to physically participate, we have many support roles that we desperately need filled.

Seamstresses - our need for costumes is huge.
Graphic designers - we need props like insurgent propaganda flyer, various IDs, etc.
Photographers - we try and document the process as well as simulate journalists on the battlefield.
